Do Brands Get Higher Positions in Google

Google Doesn’t Favour Brands In The Ranking Algorithm

Someone wrote a post not to long ago about google and the extra weight it gives the big brands in the search results. The post mentioned google gave extra credit to the big brands in the search engines for there popular terms, but this is not the case.

Google ranks websites based on different factors and like Matt Cutts mentioned in a recent video, anyone can rank number one for any term.

The main factors that help a website rank highly are formed of some of the most important fundamentals behind running a successful business. For example I have written out a brief description of the important points for you to skim over and familiarise yourself with them.

The first is obvious and pretty much everyone knows that if your website has a high pagerank then that means google favours your site and thinks the content on your site is worth some value. If you can get your websites pagerank high it will make life easier when ranking for keyterms. The quickest and easiest way to increase your pagerank is to get inbound links from websites that already have a pagerank, it also a good idea to get these links from sites that relate to your content and promote your link with your keyterms as the anchor text.

When operating a business the reputation of that business is important. Having a bad reputation means you wont get much business and google strives on bring back results that are relevant to the search term and are trustworthy i.e have a good reputation.

This brings me nicely to my third point, which is making your website an authority website will help get your site ranked for the harder terms. Authority websites are websites that appear at the top of google for many terms, by having your website ranked highly for many of your smaller terms will help make your website an authority site.

Try to only use unique content on your website that has been search engine optimized for some of your keyterms. Content is a great way to get your website ranked highly in google for a lot of the non popular keyterms and will help to make your site an authority site.

Another way to help increase your search engine position is inbound links. If you’re going to link build then I suggest only trying to get links from relevant sites as they are the types of links google looks for. Having relevant inbound links will have a huge impact on your search engine position and will help to increase targeted traffic to your website.

How To Avoid Common SEO Mistakes

Friday, July 31st, 2009

As with any new venture, entrepreneurs getting started in the search engine optimization arena should prepare themselves to make at least a few SEO mistakes.  Still, since you’re not the first to take on this challenge - and assuming you take the time to learn what chronic and sometimes devastating mistakes were made by those who came before you, you stand to start off on strong footing.  To that end, let’s take a look at three of the most commonly committed SEO mistakes.

SEO Mistake #1: overlooking the browser’s title tag.  Search engines look here too.

SEO Mistake #2: Assuming META tags do the same work as optimized body text.

SEO Mistake #3: Focusing on the quantity of search engines versus the quality.  Most online searches only come from the top 10 search engines so don’t waste your money or your time elsewhere.

SEO Mistake #4:  Little and/or old content SEO is more than tagging pages.  Search engines prefer to read an abundance (but not an overabundance) of fresh copy. Websites with old content will also turn off search engines

SEO Mistake #5: Having the wrong keywords optimized.  Keywords that are too generic are also very competitive and less likely to get you a high search result.  Instead, focus on tagging keywords that are less competitive and more relevant to your business.

SEO Mistake #6 : Using The Same Title Tags On Every Page Many companies make the mistake of repeating their company’s name as the title tag for each of their web pages.  Consider using this space with other more unique key words, since your company name likely already nets high search results.

SEO Mistake #7:  Using images as text in your headline area. Search engines are reading your headline section.  Search engines can’t read words built with images, so use a font that looks like what you want, but don’t sacrifice the section for the so-called “perfect” font that a browser can’t even read.  It defeats the purpose.

SEO Mistake #8: Building a website entirely in Flash.  Search engines can not search a flash-only site.

SEO Mistake #9: Waiting until the website is “done” before doing SEO.  SEO should be part of your website design and not an afterthought.

Hiring A Quality SEO Consultant

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009

If your company can’t manage the cost of a full-time SEO specialist, perhaps it’s time to consider hiring an SEO Consultant.  An SEO specialist is often a jack-or-jill of-all-trades - from being able to write solid copy to having a keen marketing savvy - making the position a very difficult one to fill. Few who present themselves as great SEO Consultants are all they’re cracked up to be.  Take the following into consideration before seeking out your freelance SEO talent:

- If the SEO Consultant provides multiple guarantees they should be scrutinized.  On the other hand A professional that promises nothing shouldn’t be considered at all.

- Is the SEO Consultant offering an “a la carte” pricing menu that is clear and easy to understand?  Always avoid any sort of consultant or business that offers nebulous pricing options.

- Can you see their work in action?  Do they boast a number of clients that you can either contact or verify?  It’s important that they can somehow demonstrate their prowess as an SEO Consultant before you hire them on.  In fact, one of the best things you can do is to ask your peers in the business community who they’ve used .

- Ask how low is too low when it comes to price?  You can’t overlook the fact that a suspiciously high or low price is exactly that - suspicious.

As for when to hire on an SEO consultant, most agree that the sooner the better. Site’s considering a re-launch or new sites yet to be designed are best served when they have an SEO consultant in place from the very start of the process. An SEO consultant can certainly help to improve an existing site as well.  Regardless of your situation, the sooner you hire a consultant, the sooner you’ll notice improved search results.

Affiliate Marketers often use resources associated with Article Marketing because Unique Articles can drive massive amounts of traffic to the affiliates review websites.

Four Principles of SEO - Website Improvement

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009

Are you wondering what you can do to finally make your internet site ranked within search engines? If it is true and you have made some research on seo then then you must feel lost due to amount of all the opportunities available. How to build an internet site which will get noticed without immersing in studying all complicated techniques of SEO? If you want to make Search Engine Optimization easy, here are the four key principles to get you started.

The first one is always going to be focus. Is your niche specific enough and do you know your target audience? If not, it’s going to be very hard to give accent to your internet site. Take the time to really get specific on what you are offering to your customers and you will increase your chances to be noticed.

Second, use your keywords in places where search engines will be able to read them. For example: use them in headings, links, image alt tags. Having them written in the content is not enough if you really want to get noticed. Also try to put them in places which attract peoples attention and show your website relevancy.

Third, check out if you have a call to action which will lead your visitors to click on to the next page from where they are.  Correct Search Engine Optimized Design is a great part of it. Google can actually tell what your click through rate is and your website becomes more relevant for search engines if people take action and go further than your homepage. If you didn’t know anything about it before then than you should find and install Google analytics as quickly as possible.

Finally, you need to make sure that you are linking to siteswhich are ranked well within search engines. In other words that you can have one thousand back links to just any site and still be behind a site which has fifty relevant links. Follow the proven method of building back links, which are to comment on many other people’s blogs and to submit your content to other websites. These sites should be relevant to your sector though.

Improve your site step by step, every day and make sure that you put the above mentioned tactics in practice. As you do, be sure that you are treating SEO as a process and always looking for ways to improve and to become more relevant to the search engines. Keep working on it until you have a solid format for building your sites SEO. Then you can be assured that you will have a site which will get attention.

A Secret Cash Blueprint Technique To Assist Your Search Engine Optimization Exposure

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

Nowadays, even the smallest company uses the Internet as a main tool in building a customer base, keeping in contact with their clients and this is also their most basic means of advertising.

Designing a company web site is cheap and effective, not to mention essential because the world wide web is the only medium that offers instantaneous information access to millions of users around the globe.

Any web master worth his salt should know about search engine optimization or SEO.  There is usually a benefit to improving your knowledge and doing so can open up a secret cash blueprint download for you.

This is the key towards building an effective web site that would get a lot of hits and visitors. A web site that nobody visits is useless so the challenge lies in leading Internet users to visit your web site.

Thus, your web site need to be “found” when users type in keywords in search engines such as Google, Yahoo, MSN, Altavista, AOL and others.

Once a keyword relating to the products or services that you offer is keyed into a search engine, a direct link to your web site should emerge on top of the list.

You should employ search engine optimization techniques to lead traffic your way, and get more hits that would later on lead to more profit for your company, which is your goal in the first place.

Here are a few tips on how you can make it to the top of the list of search engines, and use your SEO techniques to benefit your site and your company:

1. If you have an existing web site and domain, just optimize the one that you currently have instead of purchasing a new domain.

It will take some time before your web site will show up in a particular search engine, like Google, so it better to use the one that you currently have instead of switching to a new one.

2. Know who your target audience is and aim for them.

If you are in the manufacturing industry and a user types in your product in a search engine, then you would immediately have your target right in front of you.

As soon as the user hits the Enter button or clicks on ‘Search’, then the person will be lead to your web site.

Make sure that your target market will get ‘hooked’ on your web site. Once the search engines show the link to your web site, their job is done.

What you should do next is to make sure that your visitor will not leave your web site without them trying out your products or services, or at least leaving some pertinent information so that you can contact them in the future for marketing and advertising purposes.

When hitting a particular target market, learn about their interests, location and age so you have an idea of what you can offer them in return.

Also, you are able to somehow link their interests to your products and services.

3. Search for the right keyword.

You should be  creative, persistent and flexible when looking for the keyword or keyword phrases to use in optimizing your web site.

Google and Yahoo offer tools and tips on how you can come up with keywords that will yield results.

Do not settle for just one keyword. You can also vary the words and phrases that you use for each page on your web site so that you can have more hits.

4. Consider your target market when designing your web site.

The design itself would include the general theme of the website. You should also pay attention to smaller details such as color and  font style and size.

Make sure that the web site is user-friendly and do not forget to insert helpful articles, tips, hints and related links that can be shared to other users.

It is a good thing to have an option to send a link or an article to a friend, which will add more users and increase your client base.

There should also be various ways to browse through your web site, to fit each user.

A visitor may find it to difficult use the scroll down option so you should also provide hyperlinks which are accessible to them.

5. Concentrate on the web site content.

Regularly update the content of your web site so that old and new users can find something new when browsing through your site.

Make the content brief and precise. Writing a content which has more than 600 words will make the users lose interest, since most of them do not actually read but just skim through the text.

Strive to be the best and most comprehensive web site and you will make your mark when it comes to information about the products and services that you offer.

It helps a lot to pay attention to detail, too.

Finally, keeping your web site’s content updated is a must.

Spread the word about your web site and use the basic search engine optimization techniques and you will surely gain positive results once users visit your web site.

SEO gets you free highly targeted one-way backlinks

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

Among the many, many SEO techniques that are presented to you from all sides online, article marketing is one of the most popular and can be by far one of the most successful. Article marketing is normally referred to as the writing of articles that are relevant to your online business niche and then act of getting these articles added to the popular ezines sites or similar types of article submission directories.

Now a new product has seen the slight of day that will let you automate and take advantage of article marketing in a new, faster and more effective way.

Why this program will help you?

This product will allow you to increase your free search engine traffic faster and more effectively through this new take on article marketing. You get access to post your articles on over 10,000 different blogs as well as you get the posibility of getting unlimited (and unique) niche relevant blogposts posted on your blog.

What this product does?

This is an new form of automatic article  distribution channel. This program does two things for your marketing effort.

Firstly, it’s an article submission service, but unlike any other submission service, your article is sure to get picked up as it is automatically pushed out and published.

Unlike any normal submission services out there, you are sure that your articles are posted on relevant sites. When submitting articles you pick a category in which to post this article. Your article is then posted only to blogs with this theme. Last I heard there are more than 15,000 blogs connected to this site, so there are enough possiblities.

The site offers you a service that helps you easily re-write your articles, so that every article you submit is considered different content. Personally I use about 30 mins to re-write a 600-800 word article, but it can be done a lot faster, since you don’t have to rewrite your article very much (if at all). I always make sure that even if my article was to be posted to 400 blogs, each and every one of those is considered unique content by the search engines.

I should point out as well that the blogs that your articles are posted on are not just some low quality websites. Here are some recent stats:

  • over 11% of the sites in our network have #1 Google rankings
  • over 60% of all the sites in our network are on the FIRST page of Google
  • over 80% of the sites in our network are in the top 2 pages of Google

Personally I’ve found the articles that I’ve submitted to be posted to around 100 websites in the first month per article. Hereafter it seems to drop to being posted only around 10 times per month.

Secondly you will be able to get unique and relevant content posted on your blog automatically, if you want and have one. You can pick and choose what and how many articles (if any) you want to have posted on your blogs. You can either set it up to get articles posted automatically at certain time intervals or you can manually approve each and every article, before they are posted to your blog.

By using this possibility on your blog you will get a lot of great free content that will help establish your blog on your niche market.

Even if you’re not into blogs, I can still recommend that you use this feature for websites, where you use PPC to drive traffic to a sales or squeeze page. By having a blog (that regularly gets new content) to the site and adding a link to the blog (at the bottom of the page) to the sales/squeeze page, you will see that your CPC will drop considerably.

How the product works?

  • SEO: Use one of the best working SEO methods, article marketing, to increase your search engine rankings… and do it automatically none the less.
  • Backlinks: By using this article marketing tool you will get a large number of one-way backlinks that will search engine optimize (SEO) your website.
  • No limit on how many articles or blogs you submit to the network
  • Other: TIME! By automating the process of submitting your articles to this network, you will from here on out not have to spend any more time manually adding your articles to article directories.

Now you should do this?

Even if you’re already an expert in article marketing for SEO, this is a great tool to either supplement or take over your article marketing strategy. If you’re not using article marketing as SEO to optimize your website for the search engines, this would be a great way to start. This article marketing tool works and will give you increasing amounts of free traffic to your websites. It’s as simple as that.

After you add your articles and/or blogs, you can pretty much just leave them alone, concentrate on other areas of your business and see the SEO do it’s thing. Before long you’ll see the amount of free search engine generated traffic will increase faster and faster.

5 Things To Consider When Publishing A Newsletter

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

Providing a newsletter for your opt-in list subscribers provides many benefits in terms of driving web traffic into your site as well as boosting the sales and profits of your site and company. This is one marketing technique that will not hugely dent your marketing budget and will not also require many man-hours in developing this project.

With a newsletter, you can inform the public about your company and products as well as services. You can keep them posted and updated about what’s going-on with your company as well as many of your promotions and offerings. With these, you keep on reminding your subscribers that you are still here and is willing to offer them good deals and services.

Newsletters also gives you the opportunity to impress your subscribers. It can show your expertise and knowledge about the topic at hand and the many advantages you can offer them. When you impress people, they will become potential clients and another great thing is that they can recommend you to their friends, colleagues and family. All of them could very well be customers in the future.

If you do not have a newsletter or publishing one for your site, then you may have to consider about researching and be well informed on how to publish one. It is not as easy as it seems but if and when you get the right idea and process, it will be smooth sailing from there on. Try to take the time to learn what you need to learn and get that newsletter ready and good to attract subscribers to your newsletter as well as web traffic to your site, as top seo services would say.

In the following next pharagraphs, I will provide you with some things to reflect on when you decide to start your own newsletter for your site. Here are five things to consider when publishing a newsletter.

1) Always check that the newsletter’s content pertains to and closely associated with your business or the theme of your site. Do not think too much on what could’ve been regarded as your field of expertise. You have started a site and your theme for your site will always be something you are knowledgeable about. For example; if you have a site that sells auto car parts, your newsletter must contain articles or content like photos that talks about cars, auto parts and such. You can also include content about your company and your staff.

Always take note that visitors of a certain site are there because they are very much interested in what the site has to offer. Once they sign-up for an opt-in list or for a newsletter this means that they want to be updated for that certain theme or subject. Be sure that when you publish your newsletter you are providing for the need of the subscriber as well as their interests.

2) Always ensure that you have information riddled, content rich and well-written articles. You articles will be the body of your newsletter and that they should be able to excite your readers as well as provide information. Articles should be well written and checked for errors such as spelling and grammatical errors for it to look professional and believable. The trust of your client to you and newsletter is at stake here.

3) One thing straight: Always check your articles. Make sure that you provide true facts and figures so that your reputation as an expert and knowledgeable in that field is not questioned. Once you lose your subscriber’s trust, these may persuade them to unsubscribe to your newsletter. You will lose many potential sales this way.

4) Always provide new and fresh articles that can provide you with new information to your subscribers. If you publish stale and old news in your newsletter, there’s a possibility that people or your subscribers already have read and known about them. This will lose their interest in your newsletter and they wont get to read what is most important, your ads. They will not open or even read any of your newsletters, losing your intention in writing and publishing newsletters, to get them to visit your site and make a purchase.

5) Never think of using copyrighted materials such as articles and photos. This is outright plagiarism, you may get into a lot of trouble for this. You can get sued due to copyright infringement, as well as lose your business. If you do not have the time to write your own articles, there are many willing and able professional article writers that can do it for you for a reasonable fee. All your investment in writing and publishing articles will be well worth it when you see your list build up and your traffic increasing, which is what top seo services should do.

Cheap Web Hosting is not Favourable for a Business Website

Sunday, July 26th, 2009

Those who are on a budget and all the tightly strung businesses usually prefer using cheap, discount and free web hosting. However, though cheap web hosting is okay for personal use, there are some things that businesses should be aware of before considering free and cheap web hosting.

This is mainly because the features, reliability and capacities of cheap web hosting is not feasible for use in a business website.Cheap web hosting may not provide 99.9% uptime, which can prove to be very disadvantageous to the business website.

This is because if the web hosting of the site provides 99.9% uptime, it means that the website is open twenty four hours a day, 365 days a year. If the business website shuts down sometime during the day, there is the possibility of the business experiencing a loss of sales.

Besides having an insufficient uptime, cheap web hosting usually is slower in speed. This decreased bandwidth can lead to slow responses, and at times, loss of potential customers.

Before a business considers using cheap web hosting, it is thus important that they check up on the bandwidth offered by the company. You also find that the space offered in cheap web hosting proves to be less or insufficient for business websites.

You may not be provided with a control panel for self service and the administration of your website if you opt for cheap web hosting.Business websites may require server logs and reports. Before you opt for cheap web hosting, ensure that it offers server logs and reports.

If there are any extra options you may require, check to find out if they are available with the cheap web hosting company before using them. If not, there is no point in choosing cheap web hosting company as in the long run, you spend more time and money adding features to your web hosting.

SEO Advice Should Never Be Too Far Away

Saturday, July 25th, 2009

Without professional SEO help, few online businesses would survive the assault of competition; search engine optimisation is the process that brings good display or exposure on search result pages together with a relevant traffic level. Consider the following two issues when looking for SEO help: knowledge of search engine operational mechanisms and a well-targeted user sector. Plenty of companies or agencies such as Isle of Man SEO presently offer highly superior levels of SEO services, since the optimisation of web pages is not within the reach of the common Internet user. Therefore, optimizers become relevant parties in the marketing campaigns conducted for service or product promotion.

The concept of professional SEO help gained prominence in the mid-90s when the cataloging of the web was first started by search engines. The tasks performed by web masters have really evolved since then; if at the beginning all they had to do was to submit an URL or a page while the engine performed the other part for the indexing, nowadays, professional SEO optimizers rely on complex softwares and tools meant to analyze all the web page details and shape ranking evolution. The change mainly appeared because of the incredible burst of the Internet with things expanding every day.

Presently, contract a professional if you are after the best SEO help available for the decoding of the search engine algorithms.

Yet, select the service provider wisely because trouble sometimes waits behind the corner! The optimisation trend has reached such proportions that measures have been adopted against the search engine consultant that advise too aggressive techniques to promote their clients’ web pages. The use of the so-called high-risk techniques is rarely disclosed to clients who remain in the dark about the chances for their page to be banned from Google.

In terms of SEO help progress, an important part was played by the introduction of the Yahoo and Google SEO tutorials. This means that search engines actually support optimisation by means of the SEO help section. Get a look on Google Sitemaps or Google guidelines to find examples of highly favorable practices that can really support web masters create good traffic and high rankings. Moreover, Yahoo for example, even allows users to view link information; it is just a matter of knowing where to look and most important what to look for!

SEO Consultants Can Make Ranking

Saturday, July 25th, 2009

Web sites work as perfect tools for the marketing promotion of a business, as one can reach investors and clients a lot more easily. However, misconceptions do exist and often prevent small companies to actually develop on the electronic market. It is therefore a big mistake to believe that the on-page work is over after the design of the site. Well, things are far more complex than that, and the daunting reality proves us that thousands of other similar businesses struggle for the same customers. The law of the Internet survival has thus persuaded many people to turn to the services of a SEO Consultant for the constant site monitoring and optimization.

The SEO Consultant selection process could be very demanding too and, you’d be making a mistake to contract the first that you find available unless they have a great reputation such as Manx SEO. Check and evaluate the SEO Consultant before starting work together. The first criterion of appreciation is the past experience of a SEO Consultant in the field. How long have they serviced the market? Can they come up with credentials? Have they got satisfied customers? Be ready to discuss such fundamental issues before the signing of a contract.

Then, stay focused on quality not on quantity, and do your best to stay involved in the optimization process. For instance you have a word to say in the approval of the list of keywords that the SEO Consultant puts together for the site optimization. Analyze it in detail, and see whether you’d type each of the keywords in the search box. You must be aware of the customer psychology, since you are a customer yourself. Therefore, you’ll come to realize that there are usually a group of very competitive keywords that you can use, and they agency usually work a lot to come up with them.

From all the strategies covered with the SEO Consultant, that of the investments is the most important one. Even if the SEO Consultant uses its own resources for the optimization process, and you pay your monthly fee for the service, there are other costs that fall in the responsibility of the page owner. For example, the choice of the keywords and their implementation in the site content through programs like Google Adwords aren’t possible without bidding on the key-phrases. The higher in demand the keyword, the higher the price. And SEO involves other costs besides this one. Plan everything carefully to be certain of good results!
