A Couple Of The Less Known Meta Tags

A Couple Of The Less Known Meta Tags

A meta tag is something used by the search engines to find out information about your website, such as the description, geographical location and keywords. Meta tags are used to help webmasters optimize there websites for the search engines and held a lot of weight several years back, but every year google makes around 200 tweaks and 1-2 major updates which have given less weight to meta tags which doesn't mean they shouldn't be used.

The first meta tag which I am going to talk about does hold a small amount of weight and get help you rank slightly better in your chosen regional search engine. The tag is called a meta geo tag and allows you to specify the location of your website making it easier for google to work out where to display your content and in which search engine, for example google.co.uk is for uk residents where as google.fr is for French residents. You can also confirm in google webmaster tools which country or countries you would like to targeted your website at.

The second tag which seems to get a lot of searches is called the meta refresh tag and can be read by the search engines as well as your web browser. The meta refresh tag is quite self explanatory as all it does is refresh the content on a particular page after a set amount of time, you can also tweak the meta refresh tag to redirect the user to another page after a set time but that is considered bad seo so I strongly recommend not using it. Everything you do to your website should be 100% search engine friendly, make sure you do research on tags you are using for the first time or tags you haven't used for a while.

Other than that you should already know about the meta description and meta keyword tags as they are the most popular and still hold some positive weight with google. The meta description tag is used less by google now days because google is capable of writing its own description about your page if it feels the meta description isn’t relevant enough.

The Most Important Part of Internet Marketing

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

When you hear the term “internet marketing“, what do you think of?

For many, that term conjures thoughts of websites or spamming or search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing. For others, it’s all about graphical design, writing fancy code or even affiliate programs. All of those answers correct, but the essence of internet marketing is much simpler.

At its core, internet marketing is about these things:

* Understanding the target market to which the product/service/cause you’re marketing will appeal
* Determining exactly how your target market interacts with the internet
* Positioning your content on the internet to attract the attention of your target market
* Collecting information about your target market (also known as “leads”) for follow-up and conversion into sales
* Design of offers or incentives to induce the desired actions from your leads

Since there is insufficient space in this article to give all of these topics adequate attention, let’s focus on just one specific topic with the realm of internet marketing: Email Marketing.

My best payoff has always come by focusing on permission-based email marketing. Permission-based email marketing refers to the practice of collecting information (including email addresses) from website visitors and communicating with them via e-mail with their direct consent. The “permission” aspect of permission-based email marketing is what separates legitimate email marketers from the spammers that everyone despises.

My love of email marketing is strong for one reason: It works very well. Email marketing has been much like a never-ending goldmine: It enables us to produce income on demand simply by sending a good offer to our list. When you have thousands of loyal subscribers - as we do - and you put a strong and compatible offer in front of them, income becomes nearly automatic.

However, the key to successful email marketing is the development of a legitimate trust relationship with your subscribers. If you opt to send your subscribers a request for purchases every single day, they will likely tire of your badgering and cease reading your emails altogether.

Alternatively, if you take the time to provide good content to your readers on a regular and frequent basis, you’ll discover that your readers take all of your emails far more seriously, and as a result your emails will be opened, read and acted upon with greater frequency. Essentially, email marketing is really an exercise in trust.

Even though there are more sides to internet marketing than just email marketing (permission based), email has been the foundation that our business sits on.

Keep Up To Date With All The Big and Small Seo Tips

Search engine is an important factor in website success, if you want to be successful and have a well known established website then you need to focus on ranking highly for your websites main keyterms. Some people think it is impossible to ever rank highly for there competitive terms and settle with promoting there less popular terms, this is a big mistake as anyone can rank highly if they complete there search engine optimization efforts and make sure everything they do complies with google guidelines and his 100% search engine friendly.

I have been in the search engine optimization business for over 6 years and know exactly what google likes and dislikes. Sometimes it can be hard to keep up with search engine optimization as it changes all the time throughout the year. Google makes one or two major updates to there algorithm each year and make over 200 small tweaks every year as well.

Some search engine optimization methods used in the past don’t hold the same weight as they do today and some of the old search engine optimization techniques are now classed as blackhat. A lot of websites get stung when google makes a big update that there not aware of, as some of there on-site optimization have now been classed as bad seo and they start losing search engine positions.

We operate a search engine optimization blog which gets updated on a daily basis sharing tips and information on methods of link building and increasing your position as well as reputation with google.

You should become a subscriber of our blog or atleast take a look around as our seo techniques cater for new comers as well as experts.

How SEO people are from Mars? And why is it the case that Content managers is from Venus, about attraction

Great SEO penetrates. Great content attracts.

You need both for a tango.

Traditional SEO was about numbers - impressions - while ignoring ROI.

As a web hosting consultant, I have read so much about SEO professionals showing graphs on the position they’ve got on google While ignoring other aspects like ROI, usability, sales, repeating visitors . Is A specialized SEO server really needed? Only if it’s part of the whole picture.

Isn’t it wasteful? avoid the propaganda! Whywaste tons of energy on traffic before you have proven the business case?

Sustainable SEO is about attraction

The effective method is the other way around

  1. start by have good conversion in place
  2. Invest in a good infrastructure - A scalable webhost solution is essential to get the tons of traffic that are expected to arrive.
  3. Then build your mega-traffic campaign

Move to your new house on winter only after the heating system is functional. Otherwise how will you be profitable? Otherwise how will your clients get real results?

If you know how to convert, you can even pay for traffic, get much more visitiors, all without SEO, and still be profitable

The new SEO approach

Tell your content writers {how to write a real-life articles which people love to read, which triggers them emotionally. Tell compelling stories on your submitted article content Emotionally triggering content also gets better SEO results.}

Make your content attractive This approach is also great for Google: Google measures how much time people stay of the site before they return to the search results to search for another site. The more attractive your content, the better your results . The way is to write SEO-oriented content which still attracts real people, to write relevant content which is very targeted.

Eco-friendly SEO

Currently, You can”t get traffic from the search engines with SEO alone. SEO will increase traffic, but good content is needed for profitability. Eco-nomical can also be eco-logical. Nowadays you have sustainable web host - Seo and content writing can also be sustainable .

Usability Helps SEO

Usability improvements will improve your Google position.  Why?

  • Searchers love great content - hence the search engines have to show them if they want to attract people.
  • A good, usable, website makes your content more attractive. Search engines will find it, and your position will become higher.
  • In my case, a simple improvement in usability caused may adsense CTR to be doubled
  • This gives a real business justification to usability improvements.

Differences of Top Search Engines

Friday, September 25th, 2009

There are three high-ranking search engines in the world of Internet today. These are Yahoo!, Bing and Google! The three best search engines were revealed earlier in 2009. Google got 74.04%, followed by 16.19% from Yahoo! which is also followed by Bing with just 4.99%. With these results, you will able to realize the differences each search engine has with each other.

Google surfaced as the top among the two. How did it happen? This is not impossible! In fact Google has been constantly on its number one spot for three consecutive years. Google possesses important aspects which makes it an excellent search engines. It can make the searching process in an easy way and solid compare to other search engines. Google provides cool tools like Street Views. Also, it offers full text and is capable to present electronic mails (emails), photos, charts and chatting. Besides these factors, Google as well offers Google Mail and web pages. With these, it is not surprising how Google became the number one search engine instead of Bing or Yahoo.

You are also wondering how Yahoo! actually made it to the second spot. Perhaps, you know what Yahoo Messenger is? Who would forget it? In fact this instant messaging is one of Yahoo’s best features. Yahoo does not just let you to send instant messages, it as well offer calls from PC to PC. Yahoo! provides a lot of things. Another example of this is the Flickr download. Maybe, you’ve been already using Flickr for months, but you don’t know that Yahoo’s responsible for it! Yahoo also offers file transfer. Transferring files like document, pictures or music is now as easy as your alphabet with the use of Yahoo’s Instant Messaging.

Bing got the third place. Comparing Bing from Google and Yahoo, Bing is actually the youngest. But, how did it able to make it on the third spot that quick? Bing includes full search tools such as Explorer Pane, which is used for handling searches. It coontains Quick Previews for sneak peeks as well as Sentiment Extractions for those who would like to read or provide product reviews.

Keeping up with the top three search engines is especially important to Internet Marketing Fims and those companies providing Search Engine Optimization.

How To Obtain Additional Web Promotion Clients

Friday, September 25th, 2009

I would like to think of myself as a bit a web promotion junkie – well I should be as I have been working in this industry for the last ten years.

I have my own web promotion website and also attempt to gain new clients by writing a letter similar to what is written below to various web designers.

The way that I work is quite simple; a client will advise me on the five main key phrases for their site and then I work to gain high rankings in Google for these phrases via various methods including the all important link building. The average monthly spend of each client is £300. I am normally able to gain top ten rankings for the majority of the phrases within a couple of months and then work hard to maintain these rankings.

I would be happy to offer this service to your clients, via your company, without them even being aware that I am involved as such; i.e you adding your fee on top. If this is of interest I would be able to lower the monthly fee to £250 per client.

At the outset I would require their five main key phrases. Obviously if they are ultra competitive such as “DVD replication” I would make a recommendation to target an alternative such as “DVD replication company” or “stuttering” could be “stuttering therapy”.

Once all parties had agreed on the phrases I would then suggest possible subtle changes to the homepage and source of the site; once these are complete I then start working on achieving those high rankings.

I work extremely hard and take a pride in the way that I conduct my business. I thrive on success and it is a real buzz to see the various websites climbing up the Google rankings.

After a few months many of my clients ask about promoting additional phrases and they are able to do this by increasing their monthly spend. They are happy to do this as they have seen the success etc.

One way links is what I focus on obtaining and I most certainly would not ever thinking of “buying these links” as that was “so last year”!

Top 5 Tips to Improve Your Rankings - Beginners SEO

affordable small business seo - SEO

SEO or Search Engine Optimisation is the name given to the process of optimising a website to be search engine friendly. Small and large businesses are catching onto the fact that their website can hugely benefit from SEO and ranking well on the search engines

In this article ill list the top 5 beginners SEO tips you can implement very easily and will help improve your website rankings.

Now everyone has there own formula’s and tricks for finding a niche keyword or phrase, and I have bought some tools out there myself, but it seems I always fall back to Google’s free Keyword tool, they have added some features that really make this tool easy to use and extremely helpful.

SEO Tips -.

Have Lots, & Lots of Content Content is probably the most important factor of SEO. Basically if you have the content your website will rank irrespective of your page titles or anchor text links. The more content you can get that is related to your websites topic the better. Google and other search engines love big websites and the more content you have, the more pages the Search Engines can see and therefore the bigger you website is.

Now you may notice the search on your keyword has resulted in millions of monthly searches, well that is where the niche part comes in, take that keyword “skateboards” and turn it into a phrase like “skateboard trucks” or “top skateboard decks” and you will notice the competition and monthly searches will drop drastically, but you want to still want to find words that generate traffic. I tend to leave alone any keywords with less than 500 monthly searches and up to 100, 000 searches, just depends on the competition.

Name Your Page File Names There’s lots of scope for SEO around your page names. Google guidelines suggest that you build a brand, but nevertheless keyword rich filenames do well in search… if the SEO is done right. They should be based around the top level keywords for that page, there’s no reason to give pages or files random names. If a page is based around keyword content, then the filename should contain those keywords. Using my same examples as before, if my page has content about “Sydney SEO” or “Central Coast SEO” I would probably name my page Sydney-central-coast-seo.html or something along those lines. You will notice I used dashes (-) instead of and underscore (_) to separate the words. Google reads both as a word separater but dashes are more widely used.
